I’ve been quiet so far this week and after just having made a commitment to keep my posts to twice a week I would be lying if I said it hadn’t stressed me out that I wasn’t able to post this Tuesday… but sometimes life just gets in the way and there’s nothing we can do about it! Things have been pretty hectic for me since the moment I landed in Toronto late Saturday afternoon and I finally got to sit down and open my computer for the first time this morning. I just finished moving to a new apartment this week and have been living amongst boxes and out of my vacation suitcase for the last few days. As much as I feel like I should have been that much more ready for the move after having time off, going from vacation mode to full on moving mode with no time to gather my thoughts and prepare in between really threw me off and I’ve felt chaotic at best for the last few days. It seems like things have finally started to calm down now. I’ve handed in the keys to my old apartment and am that much closer to being settled into my new one. While I still have boxes to unpack and organizing to do, I am no longer living out of my suitcase and am starting to slowly feel my new home come together.
I definitely didn’t have any plans to move again this quickly. It was less than a year ago that I made the big move to Toronto from Edmonton, but when an apartment in the same building with an even better layout and an unreal price came up… I knew I had to snag it. On top of having a better layout, the new apartment has a beautiful view of the lake & CN Tower. There’s nothing quite like being able to relax on the couch with my coffee in the morning overlooking the lake (Okay, let’s be honest I’ve only had the chance to do that once today.. but I loved it!). The view of the lake is one of my favourite parts of my parents’ place in Kelowna, and now I have my own lake view here in Toronto. There is something calming and therapeutic about being near the water. I love looking out and seeing the sun glistening on the water, and sailboats slowly moving by. It’s incredibly serene and I can’t believe this is what I get to look at from my living room :).
Speaking of the lake… On my last night in Kelowna I went out for dinner with my parents to a lovely little Italian restaurant, where we dined on prawns, carpaccio, bread with olive oil, delicious salads, and shared a bottle of Meritage. I wore this beautiful tropical print high-low dress I snagged at Winners for $40 (I know.. amazing right?!). I absolutely love the print, colours, and shape. It’s such a fun dress and so different from any of the dresses I already own. I paired it with these gorgeous statement earrings from Banana Republic. I’m obsessed with tassel earrings like I’m obsessed with off the shoulder dresses, they’re so fun and summery… I was definitely feeling the tropical vibes that night!

While I’m sad my vacation is over I’m so excited to finish getting my new apartment set up and it feels good to get back into the swing of things. Here’s hoping I can get everything unpacked and organized as quickly as possible!
