Ahhhhh, Summer has finally arrived. The time of year where temperatures are getting higher and so is the need to protect those pretty little eyes of yours from those evil UV rays. On June 27th we celebrate National Sunglasses Day, a special day created in honour of protecting our precious peepers from the sun’s harmful rays. I’ve always been a big fan of sunglasses myself, not only because they look incredibly chic and are a great way to accessorize any outfit, but because as a blue eyed gal my eyes are EXTREMELY sensitive to the sun’s light. This means not a sunny day goes by that I’m not sporting a pair of sunnies, which also means (as I’m sure you know) I need a whole lot of sunglasses in my collection to rotate through ;).
Unfortunately as much as I wish my budget would allow for me to have dozens and dozens of pairs of expensive designer glasses, let’s be real. That just ain’t gonna happen. And to be honest, when I wear sunglasses every day and have the high possibility of either losing them, sitting on them and breaking them, or scratching them somehow I really don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for them. It’s just not realistic!
Thank god there’s Clearly. Clearly has tons of affordable sunglasses that make owning numerous pairs (like I do) completely realistic. They have frames ranging from designer to their own exclusively designed brands and the selection is so on point. I have so much fun scrolling through their website trying to decide which frames to buy because theres always so many I like. As I’m sure you can tell, lately I’ve really been feeling the cat-eyes and Clearly has two really amazing cat-eye sunglasses by Derek Cardigan that I’ve been wearing on repeat (both pictured in this post). The Derek Cardigan 7007 style (the ultra thin narrow ones which are my favourites) are soooo chic in a very high fashion sort of way. They’ve quickly become my favourite sunglasses. The best part? The frames only cost $95 and you can get them as either glasses OR sunglasses. I can easily see myself caving and getting the glasses version too sometime in the very near future…
The second pair I’m sporting is the Derek Cardigan 7005 style. It’s also a cat-eye (duh) but it’s a thicker, more every-day classic sort of cat-eye. Ultra cute, and definitely my go to when I want a less high fashion-y sort of look. The frames are also only $95 and you can get them in sunglasses or regular glasses. I just love how Clearly has such a great selection, at such great prices, and that so many of their frames are customizable to be either glasses or sunglasses. That means when you find a pair you love like I did, cling onto them. Get them in sunglasses, glasses, and every color available. Your wallet will barely even feel it. Or be like me and just get a bunch of sunglasses in variations of a style you love that you can rotate through. Your eyes will thank you.
