The Canadian Tuxedo

I have some exciting news. Many of you follow me on social media and have already heard this news, but last week I booked a role in a national commercial. I’m not really sure how much information I’m allowed to divulge at this point, but I got the opportunity to play a german engineer in a national car commercial which will be airing in May. I spent Monday in wardrobe and Tuesday on set, and got to meet some great actors and make some new friends. It was a wonderful experience I feel truly blessed to have had. If I’m to be completely honest, I had been feeling pretty down on myself. When I first moved to Toronto my previous agent warned me not to expect to book anything for a year after arriving. At first I was really confident in myself and didn’t believe that this would be true. But I’ve quickly learned just how competitive the industry is here in Toronto, and I started doubting myself. It’s way too easy to get lost in the continuous rejection (and let me tell you, this city is full of it), so you really have to learn to focus on the good and every little step you take in the right direction in order to keep you going. Booking this commercial could’t have come at a better time. It’s a tough world out here, and we all need little reminders that we are doing the right thing and need to just keep pushing on.

The Canadian Tuxedo. Denim on Denim. One of my personal faves when it comes to easy to execute and incredibly chic outfit combinations. Although you can do denim on denim wrong (think Britney Spears and JT at the 2001 American Music Awards. Eak) overall it’s a winning choice in my books. I added a vintage silk scarf, tied choker style around my neck for a pop of colour. I absolutely love the way adding a scarf can really polish up an outfit, and I always feel so chic when I’m wearing one.  I can already tell this will be a trend I will overindulge in this summer, and I can’t wait to hunt for more in some of the many vintage shops around Toronto!

What I Wore:

Chambray Shirt – H&M // Jeans – Express // Heels – BCBGeneration // Scarf – Vintage //  Coat – H&M // Sunglasses – c/o BonLook // Purse – Michael Kors // Earrings – Aldo Accessories

Have a wonderful Monday and look out for me on your TV’s very soon Canada :)!!

xoxo
