Snakeskin Boots & Cherry Red

Snakeskin Boots & Cherry Red

Every once in awhile I will buy an article of clothing or an accessory that I will have in my closet for months or even years before I actually start wearing it. I buy it on a whim because it’s a great deal or I think I really like it at the time, but then I can’t ever seem to figure out how to wear it, or I just don’t end up loving it as much as I thought I would so it stays buried in my closet for what seems like eternity. It gets to the point where I seriously start wondering if it was a complete waste of money. But then one day something will just click and I will start wearing and loving that piece like I just bought it. This is exactly what happened with these boots…

No word of a lie I purchased these Joe Fresh (faux) snakeskin boots on sale for an amazing price over 3 years ago when I was visiting Toronto. At the time I thought they were an amazing deal (and they seriously were) and that I would wear them more than enough times to get my moneys worth. Three years passed and I had still not worn these boots. Not even once. I hadn’t forgotten about them.. I knew they were there in my closet. In fact I tried them on with a few outfits a couple times but I just never loved how they looked so I always ended up wearing other shoes. It wasn’t until I moved here that one day I tried them on and I loved them, and now I’ve been wearing them nonstop ever since. I have no idea what changed between now and then, but I have finally started wearing (and loving) these boots that I’ve owned for over 3 years. Does anyone else do this? Am I the only one?

I love the way red looks when paired with earth tones, so I wore my boots with simple cherry red jeans & a red sweater. This sweater is the same sweater from Tristan you saw in this post but in a different colour. I really love how these sweaters have the detachable turtleneck, it makes them extremely versatile! And at just $20 a pop on sale it’s a much more affordable version of this sweater. And of course because winter has come back for round 2 to Toronto I wore my favourite camel fur trimmed coat from 69 Vintage to keep warm. Stay tuned for a post later on this week on why I love 69 Vintage and how they go above and beyond when it comes to customer service!
