Overalls

Overalls

Life back home in Toronto (I still can’t believe I’m calling it home?!) has been pretty hectic lately and I’ll be the first to admit it’s definitely affected my blogging. I’ve been long overdue for a post, and now that I’m on vacation in Kelowna I couldn’t think of a better time to get back into the swing of things. After a crazy holiday season and one very long car ride, today is my first full day relaxing in the sanctuary that is my parent’s vacation home in Lake Country. Kelowna received a massive (and uncommon) dump of snow yesterday and we arrived to scenery that was nothing short of a winter wonderland.  I can’t wait to take full advantage of having zero obligations for the next week.. and intend on spending the majority of my free time curled up with a blanket, tea, and a good book by the fire. And visiting a few wineries of course!

One of my favourite Christmas presents I received this year was a pair of super comfy Levi’s overalls. I know.. I can’t believe I just said I like overalls (Who am I?) but over the last couple of months I’ve really warmed up to the idea of them. If styled correctly they can look super hip or chic, and they make for a nice alternative to just a regular pair of jeans. These ones are cropped and have a very relaxed fit that gives them a more trendy vibe than some of the overalls you might remember from the 90s.

I kept my outfit fairly simple by wearing a plain black long sleeved T-shirt on top and some new black ankle boots I scored on sale recently at Le Chateau. I’m currently obsessed with blanket scarves and find that they can get pretty pricey, so when I found this one at Choies for under $25 I ordered it (and a few others) right away. There’s nothing like a scarf that can double as a blanket to keep you warm in sub zero temperatures!
