I haven’t blogged in almost a month and I would be lying if I said it hasn’t been giving me serious anxiety just thinking about it. The problem is I’ve just been too busy lately. I know. Being busy is good. Actually being busy is great for me, but unfortunately it’s not been so good for my blog.
I couldn’t have asked for a more exciting September. I was incredibly blessed to get the opportunity to attend so many amazing TIFF events, and met so many wonderful people in the film industry here. I can honestly say that during TIFF was the first time since I moved here that I truly felt like I fit in. Not that I don’t feel like I fit in in Toronto, Toronto feels like home to me, but I finally felt like I fit in in the film industry here. Most of my friends are in fashion, and I don’t have the strong network of film industry friends here that I had back home in Edmonton. That has been one of the biggest struggle for me over the past year and I was constantly feeling like an outsider that didn’t know how to break in. During TIFF I met so many amazing and talented people that welcomed me with open arms, and I can say that I feel like I finally have a small network of extremely supportive film industry friends here now.
Beyond the excitement of TIFF I got the opportunity to spend a few days working on Reign this month as a german delegate (apparently playing a German is my specialty), act in a short film (which is still in progress), and took part in the 48 film project with an amazingly talented group of filmmakers. We shot our film out on a horse ranch in Cambridge and all got 3 hours of sleep the entire weekend. We worked into exhaustion and delirium, and created a masterpiece of a short film that I am so proud to have been a part of. I can’t wait to share it with you all. Between TIFF, work and acting I hadn’t had a day off in a month. I was tired, but I was so happy. While I may be exhausted, I wouldn’t have had September any other way.

For my first post back in action I wanted to share this gorgeous off the shoulder top with you. As you know from previous posts I’m absolutely obsessed with the off the shoulder (or cold shoulder) trend, and this top is no exception. I’m in love with the shape (especially the bell sleeves)… it’s the perfect top for transitioning from Summer to Fall. And would you believe me if I said it’s under $20?! The top is from Shein, which makes some really nice and super affordable pieces (including this dress worn in a previous post). So far I’ve been really impressed with everything I’ve gotten from them.. Not only are the prices amazing but the quality has also been really good too. I’ve been wearing this top on repeat over the past month and am always getting compliments on it.. The fact it is under $20 is just the icing on the cake :).
What I Wore:
Off the shoulder top – SheIn // Jeans – Topshop // Heels – Aldo // Hat – Honey // Bag – Calvin Klein // Earrings – Banana Republic // Sunglasses – Ardene
.
Wishing you all a happy Thanksgiving!
