I had the opportunity to recently spend a few nights here at the Prince Edward County Church and it was absolutely incredible!

Now, let’s get into all about the Prince Edward County Church!

Location

As the name suggest, the Prince Edward County Church is located in Prince Edward County, just 2 hours east of Toronto.

The short distance makes the Prince Edward County Church perfect for a weekend getaway if you’re living in Toronto or the surrounding area.

Notable highlights in the area

If you’re looking for a place to stay in the County that’s got lots to do, you’ll quick find out why the Prince Edward County’s location is a dream.

Here are some of the top notable highlights of the area:

LCBO is just a 5 minute drive away
The closest winery is just 15 minutes away
Just a 20 minute drive from downtown Wellington
They have a huge 2.3 acre yard
Lake Access

Accomodations

The Prince Edward County Church is a stunning 132 year old Church located on a massive property that’s been remodelled into a comfortable vacation rental with modern amenities.

The stunning interior will have you gasping the second you walk through the front door and the gothic glam design will definitely make you feel like you’ve stepped onto a movie set.

I basically spent my entire time at the Prince Edward County Church in awe of what an incredibly unique spot it is!

Bedrooms

Ideal for groups (or an over the top couples retreat), the Prince Edward County Church sleeps 8+ adults.

It features a loft king bed overlooking the main space of the old church, two bedrooms with queen beds, as well as a sofa bed.

There is also a twin “day bed” in the opposing loft of the main space, however the steps up to this space are more of a ladder and I would be weary of trying to descend those in the middle of the night.

The loft king bed (below), although in an open loft does have a large curtains for privacy.

This is where I slept during my stay and it was honestly so cool to sleep overlooking the main part of the church.

The two bedrooms with queen beds are more private in a modern style with proper closing doors.

By the way – be warned that the beds at the Prince Edward County Church are so comfortable.

You’ll find one of your biggest challenges while staying there will be actually getting out of them in the morning!

Bathrooms

The Prince Edward County Church features 2 bathrooms, one in the main part of the church and the second in the modern addition on the side of the church.

The bathroom in the original part of the church has such a beautiful old-world aesthetic.

It features a stunning vanity and black and gold claw foot tub where you’ll definitely want to spend some time soaking away your sins.

The bathroom in the newer part of the church features a massive shower and beautiful mosaic-tiled sink. In addition the following were available during our stay:

Soap, shampoo and body wash (if you use conditioner I recommend bringing this yourself!)

Living Room

The living room at the Prince Edward County Church is absolutely massive and has a lovely open-concept layout with the comfiest L-shaped sofa.

There’s a ton of additional seating as well to accommodate large groups and entertaining.

Beyond that there’s a large fireplace perfect for colder nights, as well as a smart TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime and Spotify.

What’s even more unique and true to the Church’s origin is that there’s a confession booth!

And yes it still looks like a real life confession booth on inside. You can see it in the upper left hand corner of the photo above.

There’s also a secondary sitting room located in the newer/more modern part of the Prince Edward County Church.

If you can’t tell from the photos this place is so incredibly spacious!

Kitchen

The Prince Edward County Church has two kitchens, one fully renovated and modern gorgeous bright kitchen in the newer part of the church as well as secondary kitchen (with a sinner’s welcome sign) that’s used more as a bar in the main part of the church.

I loved how spacious, light and bright the kitchen was which also features an island great for food prep, as well as a breakfast nook.

All of the essential appliances and kitchen gadgets were available to us and we were able to comfortably make all meals during our stay.

Dining Room

Beyond the breakfast nook in the kitchen which seats 4, the Prince Edward County Church has a long dining room table that reminds me of something you would see in a movie set in the medieval times.

They really did such a great job decorating the interior don’t you think?

Outdoor Space

Because I stayed at the Prince Edward County Church at the tail end of winter (March) here in Ontario, I didn’t get to take advantage of some of the amazing outdoor offerings they have.

But since I think what they do have available is super valuable I wanted to make sure to include it here for those considering staying with the Prince Edward County Church during the warmer months.

Yard

The Prince Edward County Church is on 3 acres of land with beautiful views that backs onto the Bay of Quinte.

They have a beautiful outdoor dining set-up at a long picnic table outside with twinkling lights set in the trees above, a gorgeous fire pit, barbecue and more.

Recreational Equipment

In addition the Prince Edward County Church has two bikes you can use while there (which is perfect for cycling around the county and visiting wineries) and a dock with two kayaks.

As you can see from the photos The Prince Edward County Church is a pretty spectacular vacation rental and makes for the perfect unique getaway here in Ontario.

I absolutely loved my stay and couldn’t stop praising it enough!

Whether you’re looking to organize a group trip (when it’s safe) or want an extra fancy couple’s getaway it would be difficult to find something quite as unique and memorable as the Prince Edward County Church.
