The heart of Old Quebec City gives you a little taste of Europe here in Canada, and will almost make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time.
Here you will find beautiful stone buildings dating back to the 1600’s, and cobblestone streets lined with shops, boutiques and restaurants.
There’s no surprise that Quebec City, and particularly Old Quebec City is full of instagrammable corners and great photo spots.

Now, onto the guide of the most Instagrammable places in Quebec City!
1. Parc Montmorency
Address: Côte de la Montagne Streets, Québec City
I had to start this list of the most instagrammable places in Quebec City with my all time favourite spot which you’ll find in the Parc Montmorency (Montmorency Park).
Quebec City is full of instagrammable corners (hence this list!), but if you’re looking for the best spot to get a great photo with the Fairmont Chateau Frontenac, this is it!
This photo spot in the Parc Montmorency gives you a great view of the Chateau Frontenac, and the ability to capture an amazing photo with the Chateau without any people in the background of your photo.
No matter what time of day you come you will be able to capture amazing photos of yourself with the Chateau Frontenac here and not have to worry about other people being in your photos.
I am sure you can see why this is hands down my favourite photo spot in this guide to the most instagrammable places in Quebec City!
2. Fairmont Chateau Frontenac
Address: 1 Rue des Carrières, Québec
Did you know that the Fairmont Chateau Frontenac is one of the most photographed hotels in the whole world?
There are lots of great angles to get photos of yourself with this stunning hotel.
Of course, if you’re looking to snap photos with the Fairmont Chateau Frontenac without people in the background I do recommend shooting it from the Parc Montmorency (mentioned above).
Otherwise a great option is to come early in the morning before the tourists head out for the day.
The Fairmont Chateau Frontenac is definitely the most iconic photo spot in all of Quebec City, and no trip to Quebec City is complete without getting at least one photo of it!
Looking to make your stay in Quebec City even more special?
I definitely recommend booking at least one night at the beautiful Fairmont Chateau Frontenac.
You can check the best rates for the Chateau Frontenac here
3. Rue du Petit Champlain
Address: Rue du Petit Champlain, Québec
Next to the Chateau Frontenac, the most photographed place in all of Quebec City is the Rue du Petit Champlain!
You’ve probably seen this beautiful street covered in snow and with lights strung above in so many photos online of Quebec City at Christmas time.
It truly is the picture that is used over and over to showcase Quebec City at winter time.
But no matter what season you visit, Rue du Petit Champlain remains one of the best photo spots in Quebec City.
There are all sorts of great photo spots along Rue du Petit Champlain, and I will mention some of my exact favourite locations next!
By the way, like with the Fairmont Chateau Frontenac, the best time to take photos here is in the morning before the majority of tourists head out for the day.
We arrived at about 8am and found it was a great time to take photos, but we could have gone even earlier at 7am to really capture great photos of the entire street empty.
4. Maison Langlois
Address: 34 Rue Petit Champlain
One of the first spots I stumbled on that I knew I absolutely had to take photos at along Rue du Petit Champlain was Maison Langlois.
Maison Langlois features a beautiful stone facade, a red door, and bright yellow window shutters that are so charming.
You’ll also find beautiful flower window boxes that make Maison Langlois such an instagrammable place in Quebec City.
Snap a few photos here before continuing on further down Rue du Petit Champlain.
5. 81 Rue du Petit Champlain
Address: 34 Rue Petit Champlain
At this point I am sure you can tell that Old Quebec City is no stranger to adorable building facades that will truly make you feel like you’re in Europe.
Another great photo spot along Rue du Petit Champlain is 81 Rue du Petit Champlain.
This beautiful brick building is covered in ivy and flower baskets that make it such a charming photo spot.
There’s just something about an ivy covered building that is so instagrammable!
Because this photo spot is in a building entrance, this is a great Quebec City photo spot you can shoot at anytime during the day, even when it’s busy!
6. Polina Pizzeria
Address: 44 Rue Saint-Louis, Québec
One of the first things I noticed as I made my way down Rue Saint-Louis for the first time was the red vespa outside of Polina Pizzeria.
After all, how can you not notice it?
This adorable little red vespa surrounded by flowers makes for the perfect instagram photo opportunity that will give you all the summer in Italy vibes.
Snap some photos here before heading inside for a yummy pizza lunch, or wandering further down the street to the vintage yellow car!
7. The Vintage Yellow Cab Car
Address: 47 Rue Saint-Louis, Québec
Less than a block away from Polina Pizzeria and further down Rue Saint Louis you will come across a stone building with pastel yellow window frames which houses Restaurant La Buche.
Right next to this there is a light brick facade with a pastel yellow door frame where you will find PEPPE Sandwicherie bar à jus.
Nestled inside the door frames at PEPPE, you will find the most adorable little vintage yellow cab.
This vintage car makes for another great photo spot that will give you all the European vibes.
This is definitely one of my favourite instagrammable places in Quebec City, and I just love how the car looks in photos!
8. Place Royale
Address: 2-4 Rue des Pains Bénits, Ville de Québec
Place Royale is a beautifully picturesque cobblestoned square surrounded by cafes, shops, and a stunning 17th century stone church.
This famous town plaza is the heart of historic Lower Town, and plays an important part in Quebecois history.
In fact, the Québécois consider this to be the heart of Basse-Ville, also known as the birthplace of French America.
Beyond being a site of historical importance, Place Royale also happens to be super instagrammable.
The vibes here might make you think of the village in Beauty & the Beast, or a tiny town in Alsace!
9. Rue du Cul-de-Sac
Address: Rue du Cul-de-Sac, Québec
Another extremely instagrammable street in Quebec City is the Rue du Cul-de-Sac.
Located at the foot of the Chateau Frontenac, and with a beautiful view of it towering above, is the small Rue du Cul-de-Sac.
It is also lovingly referred to as Umbrella Alley!
One look at the colorful umbrellas strung above will let you know exactly why that is.
With the beautiful, colorful umbrellas suspended above the charming cobblestone street, there is no surprise why Rue du Cul-de-Sac had to be included in this guide to the most instagrammable places in Quebec City.
10. Fountaine de Tourny
Another great Quebec City instagram spot is the Fountaine de Tourny (Tourny Fountain).
This beautiful fountain which features 43 water jets and numerous figures, was designed by french sculptor Mathurin Moreau inn 1853.
It actually won a gold medal in 1855 at the Paris World Fair.
It was gifted to Quebec City for its 400th anniversary.
Today this majestic fountain stands outside of the Parliament building in Quebec City.
This fountain is definitely one of the most beautiful Quebec City instagram spots.
11. The Parliament Building
Address: 1045 Rue des Parlementaires, Québec
Right next to the beautiful Fontaine de Tourny is another great Quebec City photo spot, the Parliament building.
Built between 1877 and 1886, and inspired by the expansion of the Louvre in Paris, this unique building is not only of political significance but is also a national historic monument.
People come from all over the world to visit the beautiful Quebec City parliament building, and it really is such a beautiful photo spot too.
12. Rue Saint-Louis
Address: Rue Saint-Louis, Québec
Although I’ve already mentioned a few spots along Rue Saint-Louis in this guide to the most instagrammable places in Quebec City, the street itself as a whole deserves a mention too.
Rue Saint-Louis is one of the oldest streets in Quebec City, and it is such a beautiful street with so much to see.
Take a stroll along the cobblestone street and check out the shops, or pop into one of the many restaurants along the way.
Fun fact: Rue Saint-Louis’ origin dates back to the 17th century!
13. Porte Saint-Louis
The Porte Saint-Louis, or Saint-Louis Gate in english, is one of the main entry points through the walls that surround old Quebec City.
These iconic gates, as well as the historic walls comprising bastions, gates and defensive structures that used to protect the city inside are part of the reason that Old Quebec was named a UNESCO World Heritage Centre.
Beyond its incredible history, the gates themselves also make for a beautiful Quebec City photo spot that will truly make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time.
14. Breakneck Stairs
Address: 5 Esc. Casse-Cou, Québec
Although the name to these iconic stairs in Old Quebec City are a little off-putting, Breakneck stairs are in fact the stairs that give you one of the most famous views of Rue du Petit Champlain below.
The Breakneck Stairs link Côte de la Montagne with rue du Petit-Champlain and were built in 1635.
They’re actually the city’s oldest stairway!
Of course, there is no surprise that they have been restored several times since then.
But to this day they remain one of the greatest photo spots in Quebec City.
Pro tip: These stairs are extremely busy during the day, but if you come in the morning between 7-8am you will have them almost to yourself!
15. Terrasse Pierre-Dugua-De-Mons
Address: Parc des Champs de Bataille, Av. Saint-Denis, Québec
One of the most beautiful lookout points in all of Quebec City is the Terrasse Pierre-Dugua-De-Mons.
This beautiful lookout will give you the most beautiful panoramic views of Quebec City and is stunning no matter what season you visit.
Here you’ll get to enjoy incredible views of the Chateau Frontenac, the Dufferin Terrace, St. Lawrence River, and the edges of Old Quebec.
Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the views before snapping photos, or just take a stroll here to enjoy the view before making your way back down to Old Quebec.
You definitely don’t want to miss seeing this view at least once during your time in Quebec City!
16. Mosaicultures
Address: 1215 Grande Allee O, Quebec
A brand new attraction that opened this summer in Quebec City also happens to be a great photo spot.
Located in Parc Bois-du-Coulonge, Mosaicultures brings together larger than life plant sculptures and incredible gardens.
Here you can discover the story of life on earth and explore the animal kingdom brought together through 6 million flowers and plants.
Not only is this a beautiful experience, but the beautiful plant sculptures really do make for great photos.
17. Bello Ristorante
Address: 73 Rue Saint-Louis, Québec
Looking for some Italian vibes in the heart of Quebec City?
You’ll find just those at Bello Ristorante!
This polished Italian restaurant features a beautiful terrace with a view of the sky over Old Quebec City where you can sip Aperol Spritz and dine on fresh hand-made pasta.
Be sure to snap a photo before digging into your delicious Italian meal!
18. Bo Cuisine D’Asie
Address: 954 Rue Saint-Jean, Québec
Another restaurant that makes for a great Quebec City instagram spot is the newly opened Bo Cuisine D’Asie.
The interior of this restaurant is absolutely gorgeous.
From the stunning bar to the beautifully detailed ceiling, you won’t run out of great photo opportunities at Bo Cuisine D’Asie!
19. Parc de la Chute-Montmorency
Address: 5300 Bd Sainte-Anne, Beauport
The last spot on this guide to the most instagrammable places in Quebec City is actually not in Quebec City at all, it’s just outside of it!
But the Parc de la Chute-Montmorency is such a beautiful park featuring such an incredible waterfall, that you absolutely can’t miss it during your time in Quebec City.
In fact, the powerful Montmorency waterfall is 30m higher than Niagara Falls!
There are all sorts of great activities and photo spots here so be sure not to miss it!

I followed your list and went to all the places you mentioned however sadly the list isnt current and the vespa and cab and florals you mention are not there anymore. We just visited recently like 2 weeks ago. The cab is there however the restaurant doesnt open the doors to it even upon request. The vespa they no longer have and have sold. It was kind of a bummer to go there and not find any of the things mentioned.

Hi Priya, I’m so sorry to hear that the Vespa and car are no longer photo opportunities. I hope you enjoyed the other 17 spots on the list though that you were able to visit! This list was created from my visit last summer, and unfortunately because I do not live in Quebec City it is impossible for me to know when something changes. I do rely on people like you notifying me, so I appreciate your update! I will be sure to update my blog post as soon as I get the chance. Regardless, I hope you found this list useful and enjoyed the photo spots you did get to visit.
