I only recently discovered Cafe Castel and I immediately fell in love with this adorable and super instagrammable Montreal cafe.
Cafe Castel is a true hidden gem in the heart of Montreal, and it’s one you have to make sure to visit!
They’ve been serving up delicious pastries and espresso drinks since 1956, and their old-world charm will immediately transport you to the streets of Paris.
Everything from the cozy red leather booths to the vintage lighting fixtures has been thoughtfully chosen to create the ambiance of a charming European cafe.
But Cafe Castel is not just a pretty (instagrammable) face.
They have an extensive menu with a selection of freshly baked pastries, sandwiches, and coffee drinks that are as delicious as they are photogenic.
But even more impressive is the latte art!
Seriously – they made a dog on top of my latte and it was the cutest latte I’ve ever been served.
If you’re looking for an instagrammable cafe in Montreal that will give you all the European vibes, you definitely don’t want to miss out on Cafe Castel.
2. Cafe Ferlucci

This charming French bistro features stunning decor and a beautiful terrace that will truly make you feel like you’re spending the afternoon in Paris.
Notable to mention they also might have some of the best homemade croissants in all of Montréal.
So if you’re craving something buttery and flaky, perhaps a chocolatine, or a decadent croissant à la crème d’amande, you won’t be disappointed here!
And it really is the perfect place to snap a photo that will look just like you hopped on a plane and landed in Paris.
4. Cafe Olimpico (Mile End)

And let me tell you, it is GRAND!

Whether you’re looking to get some work done or just want to enjoy a cup of coffee in a unique setting, Crew Collective & Cafe is the perfect place to be.
The combination of history and modernity here creates an irresistible charm that will leave you captivated.

8. Cafe Parvis

Cafe Parvis is a trendy cafe located in the heart of the Montreal’s Quartier des Spectacles.

One step into Cafe Parvis and you will immediately see why it’s a photographers dream.
Just a note that Cafe Parvis is exceptionally busy, especially at lunch time.
Aim to head here once the lunch rush has died down if you’re hoping to snap a few photos while you’re here.
Photo tip: The most popular spot to snap a photo is next to the bar on the main floor.
9. Le Petit Dep (Griffintown)

Le Petit Dep is an adorable & charming cafe and dépanneur serving amazing coffee and lots of healthy bites and snacks.
It’s housed in a historic building and boasts a charming, rustic interior with exposed brick walls, wooden beams, and vintage decor that make Le Petit Dep the perfect backdrop for a cozy, rustic-inspired Instagram shot.
Here you’ll not only be able to enjoy a quality cup of coffee, but can also shop Le Petit Dep‘s artisanal grocery section.

Le Petit Dep‘s Saint Suplice location is hands down one of the most photographed cafes in Old Montreal.

Both instagrammers and tourists alike just love snapping photos with this charming little cafe front, and you can easily see why that is!

Le K is the perfect place for you!
Only open during the warmer months, this little cafe in Saint Louis Park will give you all the European vibes.
Grab yourself a croissant and enjoy it with your coffee on one of the bistro tables on the sprawling patio.

12. SoLIT Café

SoLIT Café is an absolutely stunning (and fairly new!) cafe in downtown Montreal.
It’s a beautiful cafe that will truly make you feel like you’re not in Montreal, and it’s oh so instagrammable.
Here you can enjoy your coffee under a canopy of vines covered in lights and oranges hanging from the ceiling.
You will truly feel like you’re dining in an orange grove and it makes for such a unique cafe experience here in Montreal.
13. Cafe Bazin

Although technically in Westmount, Cafe Bazin is easily one of the most instagrammable cafes in the area and I definitely couldn’t miss including it in this guide!
Due to its chic and elegant atmosphere, Cafe Bazin is a wildly popular spot for local Instagrammers.
Although the entire cafe itself is quite instagrammable, there is one table near the front of the cafe that has a stunning scalloped tabletop that is hands down the favourite spot for local instagrammers to snap their instagram pictures.
If you’re wanting to get a photo there too, just be aware you may have to be patient and wait for that table to clear up before you can swoop in.
After all, there is only one of them and it’s a very popular table!
But you’ll quickly see that it’s well worth the wait because it truly makes for the perfect backdrop for your instagram photos and videos.
14. Dandy

Dandy is a trendy cafe and bar that is popular among Instagrammers thanks to its chic and stylish interior.
The cafe has a minimalist yet sophisticated aesthetic that makes it the perfect setting for sleek and stylish Instagram photos.
Upon stepping foot into Dandy, you’ll immediately notice the striking geometric ceiling, which is a true work of art and provides an eye-catching backdrop for your photos.
The cafe’s modern furnishings, including black leather seating, marble tabletops, and gold accents, that add to its chic and stylish atmosphere.
Beyond being incredibly instagrammable, Dandy also has an wonderful menu of delectable food offerings that shouldn’t be missed.
I had the avocado toast on sourdough when I went and it was so delicious!
Just a heads up that Dandy gets extremely busy on weekends and people line up around the block to eat here, so if you have the chance I definitely recommend visiting during the week.
15. Cafe Holt

Cafe Holt Ogilvy is a stunning cafe that brings all the 1940’s Hollywood glamour to Montreal.
The cafe itself was inspired by European Art Deco, 1940’s Hollywood glamour, and classic South American design standards which you’ll immediately see as soon as you walk in.
The result is a space that’s absolutely stunning and oh so chic.
Don’t be surprised if you come here for a coffee and find yourself staying well past happy hour.
It really is a gorgeous cafe!
16. Cafe Myriade (Westmount)

Another great Montreal coffee shop is the beautiful Cafe Myriade.
Cafe Myriade actually has 3 locations in Montreal, so if you’re looking for coffee that’s tried, tested and true you won’t be disappointed here.
My favourite of the 3, and most instagrammable in my opinion is the Westmount location.
This sleek cafe features a minimalist design with plenty of natural light and beautiful wood accents.
I especially like the the turquoise booths and beautiful light fixtures.
Expect lots of natural light and greenery, on top of delicious coffee at Cafe Myriade.
17. Cafe Pista

Cafe Pista features vintage-inspired decor with plenty of plants, making it a popular spot for Instagrammers looking for a cozy, rustic vibe.
In their Beaubien location you can expect to find beautiful tiled floors (the perfect backdrop to your coffee shot!), colorful artwork, and stunning seafoam green booths and mint walls.
You can also expect delicious bites like homemade granola and mouthwatering sandwiches, and of course high quality coffee.
Did I mention the color green? It truly makes for a stunning interior!
18. Perles et Paddock

Located in Griffintown, Pearls et Paddock offers an elevated brunch experience in a stunning space.
The restaurant is built out of a renovated garage which makes for a super unique atmosphere.
The interior is light, bright, and airy with skylights letting natural light flood the space and create the perfect conditions for your next instagram photo.
Here you’ll also find a ton of greenery that truly make Perles et Paddock an instagrammer’s dream.
19. Barley Bar a Cereales

Barley Bar a Cereales features not only an incredibly aesthetic interior, but a menu of coffee and food that will make all of your followers open their mouths in awe.
Here you can expect to find items like multicolored coffees made with cereal milk (and yes, they’re very instagrammable), matcha pancakes, and so many more unique and instagrammable offerings that are full of color.

I came here during one of my very first trips to Montreal, and I immediately fell in love with the decor!
Here you will find a stunning teal color scheme, crushed-velvet banquettes, a circular zinc-topped bar, stone walls, and statement light fixtures.
Every corner in this beautiful space is well thought out, even the stunning mosaic-tiled floor.

The bakery has a warm and inviting atmosphere, with a mix of wooden and stone elements that create a rustic and traditional feel.

Here you’ll find a fun tiled wall with the word “Worst” (they joke about having the world’s worst coffee) and all sorts of plants hanging from the ceiling.

Helico Cafe is a light, bright and airy cafe in the Hochelaga neighborhood of Montreal.
This charming little cafe and restaurant highlights wonderful local Quebec producers and products on its menu, and has such a cozy and welcoming vibe.
It has quickly become a favourite in the neighborhood, and one visit to Helico Cafe and you’ll see just why that is!
