Charming with Thomas Sabo

Charming with Thomas Sabo

There’s something so personal about charm bracelets. I mean, you basically get to customize a piece of jewelry by hand selecting charms that are meaningful to you and where you are in your life; something you want to remember, qualities you attribute to yourself, your values, favourite things, or what have you. I absolutely love the concept of them and I love that you get to wear something that is meaningful, unique, and represents everything wonderful that makes up you. Recently I got the opportunity to customize my own charm bracelet thanks to Thomas Sabo in Yorkdale Mall, and it was such a fun experience. I spent a lot of time going through the website, looking at the charms, selecting ones that stood out to me and googling the meaning behind different symbols. I’m so so so happy with the result, and it’s such a fun little reminder of who I am as a person that I get to wear on my wrist. I wanted to share with you all my new bracelet and explain what the charms I chose mean to me, and why I chose them!

The Charms

(From left to right)

  • Sun with Mother of Pearl Stone: In Christianity the sun represents life, energy, force, strength, power, and rebirth. This charm reminds me to be strong, full of energy, strength, and power. As someone who loves summer and tropical climates it also reminds me that sunny weather is where my heart is. Mother of Pearl stone is known to have the ability to attract wealth and generate a better income for whoever wears the stone, it also symbolizes good luck and prosperity which is something I feel like I always need considering the risks I have taken in my career path as both an actress and full time blogger.
  • Parrot: Parrots are symbolic of truth telling and speaking from the centre of your heart. As parrots speak back to you the words you have spoken you hear them with no filter . The parrot reminds me to always be true to my heart and be honest in the things I say, even if I am taking a risk in doing so. The bright colors also remind me to keep living a colorul life.
  • Golden Star: The Star Symbolizes: Aspiration, Inspiration, Imagination, Wonder, Dreams, Pursuits, Magic (the Magical), Creative Brilliance, and Divine Guidance. For me personally it reminds me of my dreams of being an actress and succeeding in film. It also reminds me that I must always shoot for the stars.
  • Flamingo: Flamingos symbolize beauty, balance, and grace. They also represent femininity, flirtatiousness, and confidence. They remind me to be bold, be proud to be feminine, and be confident. I also just adore pink :).
  • Moon with Mother of Pearl: The lunar moon and her cycles are closely tied to the cycles of the female, symbolic of her fertility and incredible power within. It’s a reminder of how powerful we are as women.
  • Starfish: The starfish to me represents and symbolizes renewal and regeneration. When starfish are attacked and lose limbs they are able to to regrow them and heal themselves. It reminds me that no matter what happens, I can get through it and will come out whole. It reminds me that I can get through anything, no matter how hard it is. The starfish also reminds me how much I love the beach.
  • Virgo: Virgo is my astrological sign, and although I’ve never been huge into astrology it is still a big part of who I am and something that I will always define myself as.
