Ah, Whitsundays… One of Australia’s most iconic destinations. It features 74 islands surrounded by the bluest waters, whitest sands, and most lush greens you will ever see. Our stay in Whitsundays, and particularly in Airlie Beach, was everything we could have dreamed of and more. We definitely have the beautiful Peppers Airlie Beach Resort to thank for that. Here are 5 reasons why we loved Peppers Airlie Beach Hotel.
If you’re looking for an affordable paradise escape in the Whitsunday Islands I’m sure you’ll love it too!

1. Great Location
Peppers Airlie Beach Hotel located just a 12 minute walk away from the Port of Airlie and Marina. From the marina you can take excursions out sailing around the islands, snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, and to visit some of Whitsundays top beaches (including the infamous Whitehaven Beach in the picture above).
Beyond the marina, downtown Airlie Beach is just a few minutes walk further. There you’ll find all sorts of adorable surf & swim shops, amazing restaurants, and all of the local bars and watering holes. You’ll also stumble upon the Blue Lagoon (second photo above) which is one of Airlie Beach’s best swimming spots. Head there for a dip or just to laze the day away. Peppers Airlie Beach couldn’t be in a more convenient location and we loved the resort for that reason.
2. Infinity Pool with a Stunning View (my favourite point in this review)
Peppers Airlie Beach has one of the most beautiful infinity pools with an immaculate view. From there you can see Airlie Beach, the coral sea, and the neighbouring islands. It’s the perfect place to just sit back, relax, and soak up the beautiful Whitsunday’s island sun.
Beyond providing you with a little slice of man made paradise, the pool area at Peppers Airlie Beach has free wifi. They also offer full service from Tide’s Restaurant next door. Tide’s offers both food and poolside cocktails (or mocktails) delivered straight to your lounger. I could have spent all day every day during our stay in Whitsundays laying out by the infinity pool at Peppers Airlie Beach Resort!
3. Peppers Airlie Beach has incredible food
Tides Restaurant & Bar is the open aired restaurant located just off the side of the pool at Peppers Airlie Beach. It offers a wonderful menu of modern Australian cuisine infused with Asian overtones. All the fare offered is based on local organic fruits, vegetables, and locally caught fresh fish, prawns, scallops and lobster.
Their a la carte menu boasts everything from panko crusted calamari and freshly shucked oysters, to citrus spiced duck breast, Black Angus Ribeye and Dukkah spiced Lamb. Tides also has an amazing lunch menu that offers crowd pleasers. Think items like braised pork belly, spiced lamb souvlaki wrap, mustard steak sandwich, and some of the tastiest tacos I’ve had in awhile. Tide’s at Peppers Airlie Beach was also very accommodating with allergies and diet restrictions. They whipped together some off the menu fish tacos because I don’t eat meat!
For breakfast Tides also offers a hot buffet breakfast that’s included with every stay. It was the perfect way to start off every day before leaving the hotel and heading out to sightsee.
4. Spacious Rooms
Great food, a wonderful pool and an amazing location can definitely add to a hotel experience. I think we can all agree that the rooms are one of the most important things when it comes to hotel stays. We stayed in a beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite that couldn’t have been more spacious.
Our room featured a large and fully stocked kitchen, dining area, sitting area, and spacious patio with a great view of Airlie Beach. I couldn’t get over the size of the rooms, and especially the main bathroom which featured a gigantic hot tub sized bath. The size of the room made us feel like we were staying in a large airbnb rather than a hotel room which was such a welcoming surprise. As much as I love hotels, sometimes you can feel a little cramped sharing a room with another person and all your luggage.. we definitely did not have this issue at Peppers Airlie Beach!
5. Peppers Airlie Beach is a Little Slice of Paradise
Although our Australia trip was pretty intense (think 5 cities in 12 days all over the east coast) our stay at Peppers Airlie Beach was incredibly relaxing. It was just the escape we needed to gather our strength and carry on with the rest of our journey.
Whether venturing out to the many sights in Airlie Beach, heading to explore the surrounding Whitsundays islands, or just spending the day lazing by the resort pool Peppers Airlie Beach is the perfect place to stay for an easy, seamless, worry-free vacation.
Have you ever stayed with Peppers Airlie Beach or one of their sister hotels? I would love to hear your experiences in the comments below!
