The Perfect Maxi in Unionville

The Perfect Maxi in Unionville

Guys – I don’t know if you loved Gilmore Girls as much as I did (who’s been re-watching it on Netflix?!) but I recently visited the historic little town of Unionville in Markham, where they actually shot the pilot for it. The show itself was later filmed in a studio (that looks very similar to the town itself) but it was so cool to see where it all started. Unionville is an absolutely gorgeous, incredibly quaint, and unbelievably cute little town with a population of 30,000 in the greater Toronto area. Main Street Unionville is a high traffic tourist destination with all sorts of cute little shops, restaurants, bars, and 19th century homes. All the homes and buildings in Unionville were beautiful and look like something straight out of a movie set.

Speaking of beautiful.. can we talk about this dress for a minute? It has to be the perfect maxi. It’s no secret that maxi dresses are one of the easiest outfit choices for summer. You literally just throw on the dress and like you spent way more time getting ready than you did. It involves zero planning, and I always feel put together and extremely chic when I’m wearing one. I really love the shape, geometric print, and colours of this maxi dress from Shein. The cuffed short sleeves and relaxed fit combined with the cinched waist and the high slit give it a casual vibe with just enough skin and shape to make you feel like a bombshell. It can be dressed up or down depending on how you accessorize, and if you throw on a cute jacket (I’m thinking a creamy brown leather jacket) and/or a cute hat it can easily be worn well into fall. Oh and it’s on sale right now for under $45 plus right now SheIn is offering 40% off your first order. I find it extremely hard to find nice, good quality dresses for that cheap (especially a maxi), and this one is no disappointment. The only thing I would say is definitely order the dress a size down (and read the sizing chart). The one I’m wearing is a small and fit me a little big on top.. but nothing a little tailoring can’t fix!

What I Wore:
